FAQ | Legal Counsel Referral Program

Any Koreans living in Canada are eligible. However, we cannot provide legal counsel referral if you have already retained a lawyer or have your lawsuit in process.

Love Toronto’s Legal Counsel Referral Program provides you some information and guidelines for better understanding and resolving your case.
If you are looking for a lawyer to retain, you have to do so by yourself.
You may retain our attorneys or paralegals, but this must be done through a distinct contract with them splitting from Love Toronto.

You will get replies from our lawyers by an email, a phone, or a private 1:1 consultation once your questions regarding your case are submitted through “Contact us” on our website. This does not directly deliver your inquiries to lawyers, but it gets transferred to them by Love Toronto.

It depends on the circumstances. It may take a day to a week. Please email Love Toronto’s program coordinator if you have not received a reply from our lawyer after 2~3 days you submitted your case so that the program coordinator can remind the lawyer.

If you need financial assistance for retaining a lawyer, you may find some help from Legal Aid Clinic (https://www.legalaid.on.ca/legal-clinics/) or Community Legal Clinic (https://www.cleo.on.ca/en/publications/ontario/toronto-and-area).

You can apply for the Legal Counsel Referral Program through “Contact us” from our website. Please make sure you have detailed and accurate information of your situation, references (if you have), as well as you and your counterparty.
